Tom Hanks Admits To 'Toy Story 4'?

In a recent interview with the BBC regarding Larry Crowne, Tom Hanks was asked if there are any plans to do a fourth Toy Story. And this was his response...

"I think there will be yeah. Yeah, yeah. They’re working on it now. There you go.”

Now could this be Tom's way of joking around? Perhaps. Nonetheless, I don't think a new entry could top part three.

'The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D' Plot Details Revealed

Some plot details for the upcoming film, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D have been revealed.

You’ve probably heard there’s a new Texas Chainsaw Massacre in the works. 3D one. Nothing to do with the last couple that Michael Bay had a hand in either. In fact, if this is a sequel to any of the previous Chainsaw movies, it’d be Tobe Hooper’s original that John Luessenhop’s reboot/sequel connects closest to.

The new film, set today, will see the authorities and some angry townspeople ambushing the Sawyer home - where Jeb Stuart is accused of carrying out his butchering.

Hooper, the local by-the-book sheriff, had agreed to give Leatherface/Jeb Sawyer a fair trial and grant him a good lawyer…. But that’s before local mayor Burt Hartman, an imposing town tough-guy, arrives with a mob to see that the murderer/s don’t even make it past their front door. Though they both want justice, Hooper and Burt have different methods. Things escalate when Burt’s mob start tying ropes to trees, prepping for a hanging, and ultimately throw a flaming cocktail into the Sawyer home… burning the place, and it’s residents (including Jeb’s father, Drayton, played by Bill Moseley), to the ground.

Goodbye Sawyers… goodbye Leatherface?

You can guess what happens next : The Chainsaw killings start up again (there’s a fun sequence at a carnival where our villain starts chopping away at the attendees) and Hooper is forced to believe that Jeb Stuart somehow survived the fire and is back for revenge. But is it Jeb? And if not, who is it? and why have they surfaced?

To entice the young ones, there’s a young heroine in the film, Heather who - Halloween H20 should maybe get a ’special thanks’ in the credits - learns she has a disturbing connection to the murderous Sawyer. Heather’s a bit of a hornbag but possibly more disturbing is her taste for things of a darker nature (not just referring to her boyfriend either) - like her art pieces which border on revolting. Still, there’s good in this family member and enough intelligence and determination to find out what’s really going on..

All the 3D jumps and scares are weaved into the script - the ‘teeth that come flying at the audience’ when Leatherface smashes one of the youngster’s mouths with a meat hammer. They’re fun moments but what’s most impressive about the story here is that it’s a really intriguing mystery movie, it’s not as cut-and-dry as the previous Chainsaw movies, and will have you both thinking… and freaking.

The 'Footloose' Trailer Is Here

The trailer for the Footloose remake has been released. It looks like it follows the same basic story as the first, obviously updated for today's audiences. See for yourself...

Scribes Talk 'Captain America 2' Possibilities

Captain America: The First Avenger writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus talk about what they hope to accomplish with the inevitable Captain America 2...

The writing duo of Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus filled in on a screenwriters panel for the Los Angeles Film Festival’s “Coffee Talk” series. Roberto Orci had a conflict so we got the writers of Captain America: The First Avenger instead. They joined Diablo Cody, Dustin Lance Black and Josh Olson to discuss the writing industry for aspiring filmmakers and fans.

As the panel broke up into the hallway, I cornered McFeely for some follow-up questions about his big summer movie. We discussed the process of writing Captain America, and the early plans for the sequel.

Q: Since Marvel is setting up not only this franchise, but The Avengers too, what is the strangest note you got?

SM: It’s not even so much we get notes based on what the next Avengers project is going to be. I would just say it’s not even notes. The world is so interesting and there’s so much of it, 70-80 years of Marvel comics, you just have conversations where an executive will say, “Have you considered Modok?” And we think to ourselves, “The guy’s a floating head? How fabulous would that be if we can do that?” The depth of the world makes for some really interesting, weird conversations. As far as a specific strangest note, I don’t think I have one because from Marvel, mostly they’re good and they end up in the movie.

Q: With the Modok conversations, at what point do they get crushed by, “No, we can’t put that in the movie?”

SM: Well, at first, “We’ll save that for Captain American 2.” We’re sort of just opening up what are all the things we could be drawing from? So things like that come up.

Q: What did you get to do that you always wanted to do?

SM: There’s a train scene that I’m really proud of. I’m really excited about that. It’s all ours.

Q: Do you get to write the post-credits tag we all know will be there?

SM: Yes, that was us. That was tough and it went through a lot of drafts obviously, but yeah.

Q: Do you worry there’s origin story fatigue, since every comic book movie is doing the origin?

SM: I think there’s no fatigue if the story’s good. I don’t think that’s why people don’t go to the movies. Either they’re not good or not successful or appreciated. It’s whether they’re good or not. It’s not whether it’s a first. So I don’t think any comic book movie would necessarily be served by writing episode two instead of episode one unless that was so much better. I don’t think there’s an origin fatigue, I don’t.

Q: When you write the Steve Rogers scenes, do they assure you they’ve got the visual effects to do it so you can just write what you want?

SM: Oh yeah. We’ve done a number of CGI movies now and you just have to rely on people who are much better at this than you are and have a lot of experience in terms of making this lion realistic or making that guy’s head really look red or making that guy look 98 lbs. And they do. They do every time. I’m always amazed.

Q: But at the screenplay stage, they don’t know how they’re going to do it. So do they just say they’ll figure it out, you go write?

SM: Yeah, not on the first draft. We don’t have to worry. In our heads, he’s 98 lbs. just as in our heads that lion can talk. In our heads, that’s Peter Sellers playing that part. We don’t have to worry about that particularly on draft one and two. Then we’ll be in the room. That’s what’s exciting on Captain America, we’re in the room all the time where we go, “All right, is it going to be a head replacement? Is it going to be a different actor? Are we going to double cast this?” All the possibilities came up and they’re really smart guys, Chris Townsend particularly, would say, “All right, here’s how the best way to do it is for these particular shots.” It’s a big deal because that’s the first act.

Q: Is Captain America the last big one who hasn’t been done yet?

SM: Good question. Off the top of my head, I can’t think of other big ones. It depends where you rank people. They haven’t done a Flash yet in DC.

Q: Well, they haven’t even done Wonder Woman yet.

SM: They haven’t done a big screen Wonder Woman so there are certainly big characters on the DC side. Marvel, not just the Marvel Studio movies but the license to other studios, they’ve been at it for a few years now. In Marvel there’s 5,000 characters so there is going to be a law of diminishing returns. Is everyone going to go to a Luke Cage movie and are you going to make it for the same amount that you made Avengers for? There’s risk vs. reward.

Q: We know he comes into modern day for The Avengers, but is there room to go back to WWII?

SM: Well, our hope is that there is room and we’re negotiating how to do that now. The story will likely be in the present day. We’re experimenting with flashback elements for more period World War II stuff. I can’t say much more than that but we made it baggy enough to refer to more stories in the past.

Q: So you left gaps in Captain America 1 where you can always say something else was going on back then?

SM: Absolutely. He had more adventures than just the one you’re going to see in the movie.

Q: Do you know who the villain of Captain America 2 would be?

SM: It’s undetermined. I will pass that question, how about that?

Q: When would you be scheduled to work on a sequel?

SM: We’ve already made the deal so I was at Marvel last week. We’re talking and passing stuff back and forth all the time. They just sent me a big PDF file of comics.

Captain America: The First Avenger hits theaters July 22.

'Scary Movie 5' Gets A Release Date

As well as the announcement of Halloween 3D, The Weinstein Company also announced Scary Movie 5 for an April 20, 2012 release. It's unclear on who exactly will helm the project, but as of Scary Movie 4, David Zucker was attached to a fifth film as well. But that has been some 5 years ago now. Personally, I'd love to see Marlon, Shawn, and Keenan Ivory Wayans (Scary Movie 1, 2) do another one. Hell, even if Marlon and Shawn don't want to star, at least let Keenan direct. Scary Movie 1 & 2 were hilarious. I'm not saying 3 and 4 were bad, but the bar was set pretty high.

Nevertheless, I welcome a fifth entry, and I'm pretty sure this new sequel will take a stab at remakes and reboots -- and hopefully slashers (again). So, yeah, Scary Movie 5 is scheduled for an April 20, 2012 release.

'Halloween 3D' Has A Release Date

Dimension Films has announced that Halloween 3D will be released on October 26, 2012. Hell yeah, about time we got an October release date for a Halloween flick. My only concern is who will write and direct the sequel, which is a follow-up to Rob Zombie's two reboot entries. Originally, Patrick Lussier was set to direct H3D from a script by Todd Farmer. Could they be pulled off the Hellraiser remake to do H3D? I kind of hope so.

Steven Spielberg Toying With 'Jurassic Park 4' Idea

Just weeks after Sam Neill totally debunked any hopes for a fourth Jurassic Park, news comes from THR today that Steven Spielberg himself has approached screenwriter Mark Protosevich to see if he can come up with any way to re-ignite the franchise with a potential Jurassic Park 4.

Steven Spielberg has dinosaurs back on the brain lately. In addition to the impending launch of the television series Terra Nova on Fox in the fall, Spielberg has been meeting with screenwriter Mark Protosevich to kick around ideas for how to re-boot the Jurassic Park franchise.

Several years ago, the Oscar-winning director worked with Protosevich on a potential remake of Chan-wook Park's Oldboy that was to star Will Smith. That film ran into rights problems and didn't come to fruition, but Spielberg, who directed the first two Jurassic Park films and was an executive producer on the third, has since met twice with Protosevich to fashion a story for a potential fourth film in the franchise.

Both Universal, which released the trilogy, and Spielberg's camp stress that no one has been engaged to write a script and that the discussions have been purely exploratory. But the idea is kind of a no-brainer.

The franchise, born of the late Michael Crichton's 1990 novel, has been in stuck in amber since 2001, when Joe Johnston directed Jurassic Park III from a script by Peter Buchman, Jim Taylor and Alexander Payne. That last entry signaled the series' fading fortunes, as it grossed just $369 million worldwide -- Jurassic Park and The Lost World: Jurassic Park grossed $915 million and $619 million, respectively.

Spielberg's original 1993 film adaptation, which came on the heels of James Cameron's groundbreaking Terminator 2: Judgment Day, greatly advanced CGI technology (courtesy of ILM) in its depiction of colossal dinosaurs re-animated in the modern day. With the recent rebirth of 3D and soaring improvements in digital design marshaled by everyone from Cameron to Pixar, Jurassic Park is ripe for evolution into a 21st century phenomenon.

And Universal could use the revived sci-fi tentpole. The Fast and the Furious franchise remains healthy, but The Mummy has lost momentum, the Bourne series lost star Matt Damon (a reboot with Jeremy Renner is in the works) and Van Helsing, The Wolfman and Land of the Lost never caught fire. Battleship remains a gamble for summer 2012 but could spark a new alien-related franchise.

Stampeding dinosaurs endangering humans, fighting each other and smashing things never gets old, and Cameron showed how far an ambitious filmmaker can push an integrated, immersive 3D world with Avatar. A new Spielberg-produced Jurassic Park that takes full advantage of those tools could be (pre)historic.

The CAA-repped Protosevich recently had a story credit on Marvel Studios' Thor, and he is working on an adaptation of the Ape Entertainment comic Freakshow that he would also direct. He co-wrote the screenplay for I Am Legend and wrote both The Cell and Poseidon.

The CAA-repped Spielberg is finishing up The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn for Paramount and War Horse for DreamWorks/Disney, both scheduled for holiday releases. He next plans to direct Lincoln for DreamWorks/Touchstone.

Spoiler: Star Returns In 'The Dark Knight Rises'

The details surrounding The Dark Knight Rises keep getting juicier and juicier. Read on to find out which Batman alum is returning...

I would hate to be the guy who blows all the big secrets for Christopher Nolan's upcoming "The Dark Knight Rises." In fact, after some of the ways I've stumbled across giant secrets over the years and blabbed them without knowing full well what the impact would be, I try to err on the side of caution when I can.

Having said that, some news crossed my desk today that is too cool not to share. However, I want to ask you to respect that not everyone is going to want to know this news, and without knowing context for it, we're still not sure what it means for this third film in Nolan's saga. If you reprint this news, please try to preserve some sort of a secret for people. I'm going to run the actual news after the fold, and I'm warning you… it could be a bombshell of a spoiler.

I contacted Warner Bros. to ask them to comment on this story, and they politely refused, saying that's simply not policy when it comes to the Batman films that Nolan and company make. They know already that they're not going to get him to confirm something, especially not something like this.

We've been hearing word that this film will bring the Nolan trilogy full circle in many ways, and if the word I've been hearing from the set is accurate, then that's not just a thematic promise. According to sources, none other than Liam Neeson was on the set of "The Dark Knight Rises" on Monday, shooting a scene as Ra's al Ghul.

Wait… what?!

Right now, I can't confirm if the scene was meant to be a flashback or if it takes place in the current timeline of the films, but Neeson was there, and he was in front of the cameras. By Tuesday night, he was already in New York where he showed up for the premiere of the revamped "Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark." I have no idea if he's going to return to London for more "The Dark Knight Rises" shooting or not, but at the very least, we know he's stepped in front of the camera.

What does this mean for the film's storyline? We've been hearing for a while that Josh Pence had a role in the film as a young Ra's al Ghul, and I think many people assumed that was for a flashback. It's also widely believed that his daughter Talia, a major part of Bruce Wayne's life in the comics, may show up in the film. But to actually have Neeson play the role again, especially if he's playing a resurrected Ghul, is exciting news indeed, and suggests that Nolan may be playing around with the strange and the supernatural to some extent. It's something that fans of the series have been speculating about for a while now, and more and more evidence seems to indicate that at the very least, Nolan's going to play with the idea of resurrection. Whether it's real or not is something I suspect we'll have to see the film to discover.

For now, take this as what it is: a single puzzle piece, and we don't have the lid of the box to look at to see how it fits into the larger picture. Still, it's a very intriguing little bit of information, and I look forward to seeing how it fits in next summer.

"The Dark Knight Rises" will be in theaters July 20, 2012.

Thanks to Hitfix for the scoop.

Review: 'One Hour Photo'

Well, it's been a while since I've done a review (sorry about that... is anyone reading this? Oh, you! Great!!) so I decided that this movie should be the one to have the honors.

One Hour Photo stars Robin Williams as Sy Parrish, a photo technician at a Sav-Mart store, which he has worked in for quite some time.  He becomes increasingly infatuated by the Yorkin family since he has developed their photos ever since their son, Jake, was born.

Sy is a lonely guy and he begins to believe that he is a part of the Yorkin family as he makes an additional copy of the photos all for himself.  He even has a wall where photos of the Yorkin family are placed.  When he finds a secret that breaks the Yorkin's seemingly "perfect" life, Sy begins circling out of control.

Robin Williams was perfectly cast in this role and he does his best work here.  It's BY FAR my favorite Robin Williams movie.  He doesn't over play anything.  He hits just the right notes in each scene.

The music adds a nice creepy layer to each scene, especially the ones that are focused on Sy and his inner demons that are spiraling out of control.

Mark Romanek writes and directs this haunting thriller and he really does an excellent job with the contrast between Sy and his inner demons against the nice, clean, and happy surroundings that surround Sy.

At just under 100 minutes in running time, the movie is not too long or too short, just right.

I just finished watching this movie for the second time and it still gives me the creeps and makes me feel uncomfortable but I LOVE THIS FILM!

I highly recommend it if you want to see Robin Williams give an amazing and eerie performance.

But just remember to pretend... this is ALL pretend!

Yes! Warren Beatty Back For 'Dick Tracy 2'!

Twenty-one years ago, Warren Beatty brought Dick Tracy to life on the big screen. And now, 68-year-old Beatty, will do it again! Dick Tracy kicked off this year's Hero Complex Film Festival, and, of course, Beautty introduced the film -- but when asked about a possible sequel, Beatty responded...

I think it’s dumb to talk about movie before you make them. I just don’t do it. It gives you a perfect excuse to avoid making them. The more you talk about it, the longer it’s hidden.

Long story short: now that Beatty owns the rights to the character, he does plan on doing a sequel. Not a remake or reboot or re-whatever, but a direct sequel. And I think that's awesome!

Stu's Tattoo In 'The Hangover Part II' May Be Changed

This is getting funny. But not in a good way. I'm sure you've all heard about Mike Tyson's tattoo artist suing Warner Bros. for the use of Tyson's face tattoo in the movie. Iron Mike seems to be okay with it, but his artist isn't. If the two parties can't come to an agreement by the time The Hangover Part II leaves theaters, WB will have to go and digitally remove the tattoo and replace it with another one for DVD and Bluray releases -- and that will get expensive. Just settle already.

Thanks to the The Hollywood Reporter for all the details.

New Writers Onboard 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'

Two new writers have just been hired to write the script for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot coming from Michael Bay and Platinum Dunes.

After the writing team of Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec revived one Paramount franchise with their script for Mission: Impossible --Ghost Protocol, the studio has tapped them to rewrite another franchise Paramount is hoping to resuscitate. They will next go to work on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The scribes just did a rewrite of Now You See Me, which Louis Leterrier will direct for Summit Entertainment. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot is being produced by Platinum Dunes partners Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form. The scribes are repped by WME.

'Stab 5' Press Release (Fan Film)

The official press release for the fan film Stab 5 has been released. According to writer-director Joshua Patrick Dudley, this new installment is set to be a lot better than his previous attempt, Stab 4: Fresh Blood. Just a little back-story, the Stab films are movies-wthin-a-movie in the Scream universe. And these fan films are a fan's attempt to recreate them. Read on below for the official press release issued earlier today.

- FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –

Stab 5 online on June 24, 2011!

June 7, 2011 – Less than a year after their first release (Stab 4: Fresh Blood) the team from StabMovies.com gears up for the release of their second film, STAB 5.

If you don’t already know, Stab is a series of movies produced within the Scream movies, recreating the “real life” events of Scream, Scream 2 and Scream 3. The release of Scream 4 allowed audiences to see where the Stab film franchise had gone over the past decade, spawning numerous sequels and storylines. After Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) threatened to sue the production company if they made any more movies about her life, the Stab series was forced to evolve into something new. The team from StabMovies.com, headed by writer/director Joshua Patrick Dudley, has tried to envision what the rest of the Stab sequels would have been like once there were no longer “real” murders to be based on. Joshua and his crew plan to make Stab 4, 5, 6 and 7! Two down, two to go!

“Starting with Stab 4, we tried to introduce new characters and places into the already infamous storyline established by the previous Scream and Stab films,” says Dudley. “Stab 4 was intended to show how a never-ending stream of sequels isn’t necessarily a good thing for a film franchise. We tried to play with the fact that the plots were recycled and new characters were based on previous characters in the series and make fun of the idea while doing so. We did create something pretty cool with Stab 4, but I think Stab 5 takes it to another level.”

Stab 5 presents a new idea in the Stab films, one touched upon inside the Scream movies. “With Stab 5, I asked myself, ‘where can this go? What is the next level of progression for the Stab films?’ and the answer seemed to be a new level of reality.” Dudley continues, “In Stab 5, the real life cast of Stab 4 is now being hunted by a real Ghost Face killer, an idea that was born from watching Scream 3 and Wes Craven’s New Nightmare. The levels of reality can be very confusing, so it has been fun to play with. Stab 4 was set in the Scream universe, but Stab 5 is now set in ‘real life.’ So, Sarah Campbell is no longer Sarah Campbell, she is the actress that played her, Audrey Marquee and the Scream movies exists in our world, not the Stab movies. This gave us a chance to do some really cool stuff including bringing back most of the cast of Stab 4.”

Released on October 10, 2010, Stab 4 received mixed reviews. “We had a lot of people complaining about shaky camera shots, bad lighting, bad acting… etc. I think people forgot that we were just a bunch of kids, with a Flip camera, making a movie for fun. But the criticism really helped us a lot and we tried harder this time to plan and organize our shoots. We even discuss the criticism of our first film in the script for Stab 5, something we felt that the Scream movies would also do. I think Stab 5 will kick ass and exceed people’s expectations. I’m really excited for everyone to see it!"

Stab 5 will be viewable in HD, online, for free on June 24, 2011 at www.StabMovies.com and www.youtube.com/stabmovies.

Official Synopsis:
Stab 5 finds the cast of the amateur fan film Stab 4: Fresh Blood under attack, again playing on the reality-within-a-reality of the Stab films and taking it to the next level. After two cast members of Stab 4 are brutally murdered, the town of Manchester, New Hampshire is on edge as rumors of a Ghost Face wearing psycho quickly make their way around town. Joshua Dudley, Director of Stab 4, and his Producer, Rachel Arnold, are busily working on their production of Stab 5 when they receive the news. Deciding the film’s production is worth more to him than the safety of his cast, production rolls on. Stab 4 cast members Audrey Marquee, Jennifer Sue Mallard, Chris Dube, Shannon Nightingale, Amanda Constant, Alex Wenta, Shana Roystan, Reanna Warnock and more are targeted by the copy-cat killer and as more and more of the cast begins to die, confusion and speculation abound. Who would want to kill the cast of Stab 4? Is the killer someone taking their obsession with the Scream films one step too far? Is the killer following the same rules we all know and love? But most importantly, the number one question on everyone’s mind: who’s next?

Tom Atkins Reveals 'Halloween 3D' Plot

At a recent horror convention in Kentucky, actor Tom Atkins was asked about his involvement with Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer's Halloween 3D by an eager fan. Here's how that conversation went...

All this new talk on Halloween 3 and Patrick Lussier got me really excited to share my story about the recent conversation I had with actor Tom Atkins (Lethal Weapon, My Bloody Valentine, Drive Angry, etc). I recently met Tom at a Horror Convention in Kentucky and when asked about Patrick Lussiers Halloween 3 he gave me first the basic answers that pretty much everyone is aware of like "Patrick had a great script and story and was ready to begin asap but the Weinsteins basically ran out of money and simply could not do it at the time".

I had heard many rumors at the time about Tom being in the film considering he seems to be in all Lussiers recent entries and when asked he stated that he would be portraying a "Perverted Doctor" of some sort and he went on to say that H:3 would pick off right where Zombie's left and what basically happen is that Laurie was taken to this mental hospital due to everything that H:2 ended with and Michael comes for her inside this insane asylum. Apparently he is the doctor of Laurie and instead of fixing her mentally he would just rather grope her a few times, i mean who wouldn't right?? I kid I kid but oh yea I almost forgot Mr. Atkins also filled me in on a little secret.... He DIES just like everyone else in the film.... Except LAURIE and MICHAEL.

Emma Roberts Talks 'Scream 5' Possibility

Emma Roberts briefly chatted with MTV about the possibility of her character from Scream 4 appearing in Scream 5. Watch the video or read on for the skinny...

WARNING: Spoilers ahead...

Okay, still with us? Good, because we're officially in the spoiler zone. If you've seen "Scream 4" (or if you don't care about getting spoiled) then you already know that Roberts, who played Sidney Prescott's cousin Jill, was the psychotic mastermind behind the latest Woodsboro killing spree. And she almost got away with it, too, if it weren't for those pesky used-to-be-kids Dewey, Gale and Sid. The "Scream" veterans banded together and put an end to Jill's reign of terror with a well-placed bullet, but as the late Randy Meeks once wisely said, killers always come back for one last scare — so are Roberts' days with "Scream" at an end?

"I don't know," she said. "I haven't heard anything solid, but you never know."

"That was a really fun role to get to play, a psychopath," she added with a laugh. "But it was one of those things where we were like, 'Let's get through this one alive and then think about the next one.'"

Interestingly enough, when MTV's Josh Horowitz assured her that at least she "got through it," Roberts replied, "Barely!"

Barely? Looked to us that there wasn't any "barely" about it, but maybe there's some hope for Jill Roberts after all.

Thanks to MTV for the story.

'Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1' Trailer Tease

These are starting to become a trend as of late; a short snippet of footage from a trailer, used to promote said trailers release. So it's basically a teaser of a teaser. Anyway, here's the one for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1...

'The Hangover 3' Already In Production

Things are moving pretty fast over at Warner Bros. Studios, especially the The Hangover franchise, which just kicked The Hangover Part III into production...

Not surprisingly, considering it’s supposedly the biggest comedy of all time (Are they taking into consideration inflation because I know for a fact that “Police Academy 3 : Back in Training” was extremely popular!), Warner Bros are quick to cash in on the success of “The Hangover 2″ by rushing into production… “The Hangover 3″.

The Warner Bros comedy, reviews of which suggest it’s merely a clone of the first film, has surpassed $200 million dollars. The Todd Phillips directed sequel – to a 2009 surprise hit – released last week is the first film to reach that number with such speed.

Tracking-Board reports that former ‘spoof-flick scribe’ (he worked on the “Scary Movie” sequels) and “Hangover 2″ writer Craig Mazin has been hired to write the third instalment in the phenomenonally successful film series.

A “Hangover 3″ is going to set Warner Bros back a quid. Though stars Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms were all paid less tha $1 million on the first film, the fact that they didn’t have sequel options in their contract meant they could negotiate a higher fee for the sequel – as such, the trio walked away with about $5 million each and a percentage of the film’s [immense] profits. Just how much will a second sequel cost Warner!? I shudder to think…$10 million for each actor? And what about Todd Phillips?

Having said that, there were a lot of wasted monies on this current sequel. Next time, the studio could probably save themselves both time and money (since they’ve cut them from this latest one) by ditching the cameos next time around (one can only imagine Warners had to pay Mel Gibson and later, Liam Neeson, a sumly amount to play a small part – albeit one that was ultimately cut – in “The Hangover 2″. I say bring back Heather Graham – offer her 500k and get Cooper to bring in some of his past conquests, like Renee Zellweger and Olivia Wilde, to cameo for nix) and, I think it goes without saying, by not stealing Mike Tyson’s tattoo design.

Most of the cast have said that they think the next film should be set in Amsterdam; you guys have any suggestions for where “The Hangover 3″ should be set?

Thanks to Moviehole for the story.
