The trio will join Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Abigail Breslin, Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Ashton Kutcher, Seth Meyers, Lea Michele, Sarah Jessica Parker, Michelle Pfeiffer, Til Schweiger, Hilary Swank and Sofia Vergara in the production, which goes before cameras in February.
The movie tells intertwining stories of a group of New Yorkers as they navigate their way through bittersweet drama and romance over the course of New Year's Eve.

Cube would play a NYPD cop who is working with the director of the Times Square festivities (Swank).
In his cameo, Seacrest would play himself.
Duhamel, who last starred in Life As We Know It, is repped by ICM and John Carrabino Management. Cube, repped by UTA and Prospect Park, was last seen in Lottery Ticket from Alcon. CAA-repped Seacrest played himself in Get Smart and Knocked Up.

A few days back word hit the web that a teaser for a possible ‘’Tron 3’’ had been filmed – with actors such as Cillian Murphy and Bruce Boxleitner reprising their roles – with plans to attach the sneak peek on the upcoming “Tron Legacy” Blu-ray.
Most would assume a “Tron 3” is a sure thing.
Not so.
An interesting report at Jim Hill Media suggests that the teaser was shot way back “Tron Legacy” hit theaters, at which time Disney had very high expectations for the film. As it turned out, the Jeff Bridges starrer underperformed and so, not surprisingly, a few have been trying to quickly hide the teaser; it goes without saying they don’t want it on the Blu-ray now.
‘’Someone at the Studio supposedly put the word out about this “Tron 3″ teaser because there’d been talk recently about possibly NOT including this footage on the “Tron: Legacy” DVD & Blu-ray”, says Jim Hill Media. “In essence putting development of a “Tron: Legacy” follow-up on ice for a while.”
“This news did not reportedly thrill a number of key creatives at the Studio. Which is why a decision was made to prematurely get the word out about this “Tron 3″ teaser trailer which was supposed to be on the Blu-ray & DVD. With the hope that — once this news leaked — the “Tron” fan community would become electrified. More to the point, this leak would then put The Walt Disney Company in the position where they’d have no choice but to include this “Tron 3″ teaser as part of the “Tron: Legacy” DVD & Blu-ray release. Which would then (in theory, anyway) give the “Tron: Legacy” sequel project additional exposure and some increased momentum.”
Even if Disney does decide to include the teaser on the “Tron” Blu-ray, it doesn’t mean a “Tron 3” will ever happen. As Jim Hill Media points out, a teaser for “Dumbo II” appeared on the 2001 VHS & DVD release of “Dumbo” and it never came to fruition.
‘’The way I hear it, the decision to go forward with a “Tron: Legacy” sequel now depends on how well the Blu-ray & DVD version of this Joseph Kosinski film sells’’, says the site. “And speaking of Joseph … Preproduction of “Oblivion,” Kosinski’s next film for Walt Disney Studios, supposedly began two weeks ago. And as for his reimagining of Disney’s 1979 sci-fi epic, “The Black Hole” … Well, again from what I hear from studio insiders, the future of that film now hangs on the sales of the Blu-ray & DVD version of “Tron: Legacy” as well.”
“So long story short here: If you really want to see “Tron 3″ and/or that proposed “Black Hole” remake, you’d better purchase a copy of “Tron: Legacy” Blu-ray & DVD. A couple of copies, actually. And that’s whether or not this upcoming Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment release includes that much-talked-about “Tron 3″ teaser.”
So here’s the situation in a nutshell : We will probably get to see the teaser for “Tron 3” (on the “Tron Legacy” Blu-ray), but unless the DVD sells like hotcakes, the movie won’t happen. The only sure-thing as far as ‘Tron’ right now is the new “Tron : Uprising” animated show that premieres on Disney XD in 2012.

After a slew of test screenings on the East Coast, it looks like Wes Craven may be going back behind cameras to shoot additional film for Scream 4. On Location Vacations pointed out that one of their readers received a filming notice in Northville, MI (on Clement St. between 7 mile and Frederick) for Jan. 31 & Feb. 2 that simply listed a motion picture entitled “Z”. Anyone who was following the Scream 4 shoot last summer will remember much of the film was shot in Northville under the production name Z. Additional photography does not mean there are problems, sometime when the film is assembled they learn of soft spots that could be strengthened. Maybe they want more gore? Maybe they want a new ending? Who knows. Thanks to Bloody-Disgusting and Scream-Trilogy

In an interview with Coming Soon, director Simon West says he’s hoping to convince Nicolas Cage to board the Prisoner Plane one more time.
West is working with Cage on his next film “Medallion” and says he’ll make sure to speak to the actor about it, then. Though West admits it’s going to be real hard getting the cast of the 1997 actioner back together – such names as Ving Rhames, John Cusack, Danny Trejo, Steve Buscemi, John Malkovich and Dave Chappelle featured in the first film – he believes if he can convince Cage, the rest will follow. Thing is, West doesn’t need many of the cast members back… over half of them, um, died at the end of the original.

Hi guys,
Hope you're feeling better Harry, get well soon!
Long time reader, occasional news feeder. Writing from rainy old London, England. Surprised that no one has commented on this, lucky me I guess. Was lucky enough to attend a key note speech at the London school of performing Arts university and was honoured to be in the same room as Keanu Reeves who was the guest of honour. Keanu was here promoting his new movie Henry's Crime which is opening shortly.
keanu as always was his kind gentle self and spoke to the class for a good 45 mins about his big break in acting and his love for Shakespeare. the floor was then opened for Q&A and the following was note worthy;
- Says he's prepping a action movie around the world of the samurai and that it will be a hard "R" rated 3D action feast that will deliver some great martial art set pieces. he's into 2 months of a 6 month training programme.
- Spoke briefly about the possibility of Bill and Ted part 3 - ( Audience started laughing) but he assured us he's committed to the project.
this is where the fun begins. Some great info shared with us good people.....
- Says he met the Wachowski's (no emphasis on the word brothers), for lunch over Christmas and stated that they had completed work on a two picture script treatment that would see him return to the world of the matrix as Neo. Says the brothers have met with Jim Cameron to discuss the pro's and con's of 3D and are looking to deliver something which has never been seen again. keanu stated that he still has an obligation to the fans to deliver a movie worthy of the title "The Matrix" and he swears this time that the treatment will truly revolutionise the action genre like the first movie. Wachowski's are working on a movie called "Cloud Atlas" at the moment, once that concludes they will talk again.
- Keanu spoke about the need to encourage writers to continue to focus on working on new ideas and that a good script was worth its weight in gold. For example he said the Wachowski's had just sold the most expensive script in history to Warner Brothers. a modern futuristic take on the legend of "Robin Hood". Says he understands WB paid $5 million for the rights and that from what the wachowski's have told him, it will be an action movie that would have the same impact visually and technically that Terminator 2 had. Confirmed that Will Smith has agreed ti headline the picture.
that was pretty much it guys, have to give kudos to Mr Reeves. A true gentleman and an esquire.
can't wait for the above to come to fruition. If you use this please refer to me as "El-Nino".
Peace out gents.....

Rumours of the “24″ movie’s demise have been greatly exaggerated – at least according to star Kiefer Sutherland.
Speaking to Extra about the proposed feature film version of the hit FOX series, Sutherland sounds convinced that we will see quick-quipping Jack Bauer and sour-faced savior Chloe O’Brien again.
Soon though? Nah, “we won’t start shooting for about eight months”, the actor said.
Asked about the recent script changes (Billy Ray’s draft was rejected hence the postponement of the film), Sutherland said : “And I think it will up until the day we start shooting, and probably from that point forward, too. It’s a very difficult thing to take something that you’ve done for eight years, almost 200 episodes, and try and find a story that’s going to be unique and yet service the history of the show as well. That is to be expected. So we start shooting hopefully by next December or January.”
Recent reports suggested “Unstoppable” director Tony Scott may be in talks to direct the film.

In his latest keep-it-in-the-family move, Will Smith is exploring with Sony the potential for a remake of the musical "Annie," with daughter Willow as the star, sources say.
Smith, who developed "The Karate Kid" starring his son Jaden, would produce through his Overbrook shingle.
While details about the "Annie" retooling are still in development stages, rapper Jay-Z, who worked with Willow on her pop hit "Whip My Hair," is in talks to collaborate on the music.
Project reps were tight-lipped about whether the pic would be a contemporary version and whether it will include any original songs.
Sony's summer hit "Karate Kid" made more than $350 million worldwide and likely helped pave the way for exploring new ground with the "Annie" redo.

Robert Downey Jr. has fallen out of Oz, the Great and Powerful, Disney’s prequel-ish take on The Wizard of Oz tale, and the studio is in discussions with Johnny Depp to step into the great wizard’s robe.
Sam Raimi is due to direct the tale of Oz as a young illusionist with a grandiose attitude who is forced to flee a traveling circus. His hot air balloon is swept up by a tornado to the land of Oz, which is run by two magical wicked witches.
While it doesn’t have a start or release date, the Joe Roth production is a high priority for the studio, which hopes to start production in the second half of the year.
Disney is hoping not to miss a beat with Oz. It has hired a unit production manager and begun the task of creating the world of Oz.
The question with Depp, who has a close relationship with the studio after starring in its Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and last year’s Alice in Wonderland, will be whether the timing works out.
Depp is scheduled to begin shooting Dark Shadows, Tim Burton’s adaptation of the 1960s gothic soap opera, for Warner Bros. this spring. Depp is also attached to star as Tonto in The Lone Ranger, another Disney project, this one being produced by Jerry Bruckheimer. Ranger is further back in the development process than Oz, although it has a director, Gore Verbinski.
Disney clearly would love for Depp to do both, but if he commits to Oz, that pushes Ranger back. Can the other talent involved in Ranger wait that long?
Downey, meanwhile, seems to freeing up his dance card for 2011, with Oz the second project he is backing away from. The actor was to star in Gravity opposite Sandra Bullock but dropped out in November.

Todd McFarlane, one of the superstar names in comics, will be at Golden Apple Comics in Los Angeles Wednesday at 6 p.m. for a celebration of the 200th issue of Spawn, his comics series about a supernatural force that punishes the wicked. The event at the Melrose Avenue landmark is a special one for McFarlane, as Golden Apple hosted the signing party for the first issue — in June 1992. We caught up with the artist and entrepreneur to talk about anniversary of a standout moment in comics publishing history and his aspiration to bring “Spawn” back to the silver screen.
GB: It must be nice for you to be going back to Golden Apple for this event.
TM: I remember the first time — for the release of Spawn No. 1 — my wife was out of town so I had my little daughter who was about 5 or 6 months old. So I packed her up, “”OK, I’m going to do this signing with my daughter.” And now fast-forward and she’s in her second year at NYU. Wow. It’s been that many years and that’s what it takes to get to that kind of a number in comic books.
GB:You’ve had so many successes and different stops in your career, but tell me about that first Spawn issue and what that represents for you now when you look back.
TM: The culmination of it — being that high school kid that loved comic books and teaching myself to draw and sending out my samples, getting rejected and eventually having someone crack open that door open for me. It was like essentially getting the mailroom job, if you will, and climbing up from no-name books and eventually getting to work on Batman, Hulk and Spider-Man. And then getting to a point — I guess I’m just restless — where I found new creative itches to scratch. I wanted to tell stories that didn’t require clearance from somebody else to tell. And even more so, when you jump on a character that’s got 200, 300 issues behind them, there’s baggage that goes with it. And, you know, I’m now in that position with Spawn. Anybody who comes in, the first thing they feel they have to do is read the past. But back when it started I was looking for a clean slate so we could tell stories without keeping them in the corporate box.
GB: The success went well beyond comics, too, with television, toys and film. Are there any new adaptation efforts in the pipeline?
TM: One of the things that happened is after the first movie came out I started the toy company and sort of got distracted. But these days, as you might imagine, with the [Hollywood] success of Batman and Spider-Man and some of the Marvel titles, everybody’s on a comic-book buying binge and the phone constantly rings. My attitude toward it is I can’t get my head wrapped around some big special-effects movie with a supervillain in there. There will be plenty of those and they’ve done pretty well.
I’ve always seen Spawn as being cut from a different cloth. It’s more of an urban, psychological story that’s being told. The answer I’ve given the last few years is that Spawn should be a small-budget movie in which the only thing that’s out of the ordinary is this thing that intellectually we know as Spawn and there would only be a handful of people that see it. I call it “it” because it never talks, it’s just a force of nature. Really, the story revolves around the people who are trying to decide: “Is the ghost alive? Is the shadow actually moving?” When I give that pitch, some of the executives scratch their heads. To a lot of people, a movie where the [title] character doesn’t talk doesn’t make any sense. There have been a few movies like that. “Alien,” you know, that guy didn’t say much. Or ”Jaws,” the shark didn’t have too many speaking lines. “Jaws” is the closest example, the movie wasn’t about the shark, it’s about the people chasing the shark.
GB: There are so many against-the-grain films in the sci-fi or comics sector that I would think it wouldn’t be that strange of a pitch. If you consider the premise, plot or approach of movies like ”District 9,” “Kick-Ass,” “Sucker Punch“ or “Cowboys & Aliens,” how strange, really, is Spawn as a movie?
TM: The idea I pitch is that the movie shouldn’t be about superheroes and laser beams — it’s about the id of people and the group of people caught up in the story and seeing things out of the corner of their eye. And when I give the pitch, I also say that I will write and direct it. There’s the nonnegotiable pieces of it. Then I have four suitors who say, “Yeah, cool, when do we start?” It means we’re not looking for a $20-million actor and we’re not looking for a big-budget extravaganza with lots of special effects.
The first Spawn signing event at Golden Apple
GB: Then more like a “Paranormal Activity” approach but with urban-crime trappings…
TM: The story that I pitch is very tight, very contained, but done right. I want a movie that gets people’s hearts racing. I want to scare them. Spawn, done right, is a creepy character. Instead of a superhero who just stands there. That’s why Batman was always the coolest of all the good guys. I never had one moment of affinity for [Superman]. He was a Boy Scout right from the moment he hit the ground. He was always polite and said the right thing. I never felt like he was in danger because he could spin planets on his finger. Batman is a guy who could die if you threw him out of a window. More than that, even though he had women throwing themselves at him and millions of dollars, all he wanted to do was to wait until 3 a.m. and the pitch of black and say, “time to put the costume on and scare the bad guys.” I relate way more to that guy. Spawn is Batman untethered, without the corporation behind it. Batman without limits, Batman who kills the Joker.
GB: It reminds me a bit of those great Spectre comics from the 1970s, this ruthless spirit of ultra-violent punishment…
TM: Yep, that’s it. I even use that word in the movie pitches. Spawn is a spectre, a sentinel, he’s that thing that nobody can get their hands on. As a kid growing up, the movies I was enamored with were the creepy movies where there’s only one creepy thing. Going back to the black-and-white films, way back, “Dracula” and “Frankenstein,” there was only one fantastical element. The title character. Dr. Frankenstein and Igor were just a madman and simpleton. They were still humans. When you start adding others to it, it loses me. The son of the Wolf Man or the bride of Frankenstein, even, it loses it. I like ”The Exorcist.” I like “Rosemary’s Baby.” A little bit of the fantastic and then everything else was real. You went for the ride and felt like, “If there was a ghost in the house, this is what it would be like.”
GB: The trip to Golden Apple is more than nostalgia, of course. Tell me about your expectations with issue No. 200.
TM: We’re going to ring the bell again. Two hundred issues of any comic book in our industry is a pretty decent feat, let alone an independent one. To my knowledge, the only other one is Cerebus by Dave Sim, a Canadian, like myself. We’re waiting for you Americans to start pulling your weight.

Tyler Labine plays a character named Franklin in Rise of the Apes, the prequel to both the five part classic Planet of the Apes series and the memorably confusing 2001 reboot. Labine was at the Television Critics Association press tour to promote his new sitcom, “Mad Love,” so I went up to him after for some Apes scoop. He had a surprising perspective on the movie.
“It’s touching,” Labine said. “We have Andy Serkis at the helm. Basically the leading character is Cesar the Ape and he’s such a pioneer of motion capture craft and had people crying behind the monitors without saying a word, he’s so great. John Lithgow plays a very touching character in there and there’s a lot of humanity to juxtapose what’s about to happen. I think we need to see how humane we are in the beginning, in the prequel, so that there’s a bit of a rivalry between the humans and the apes by the time we get to Planet of the Apes.”
Franklin is a primatologist studying the apes when Cesar evolves into a speaking, emoting rebel leader. He’s a loving sympathizer for the apes too.
“I was kind of playing a bit of an ape myself, a guy who just loves apes, did all the schooling and everything but he’s sort of become like the bleeding heart of the clinic. He was a big sort of teddy bear who is thrust into these really heavy decisions early on in the movie that directly affect the outcome of what come to be with the apes. It was nice. There were some real dramatic turns in there and it also didn’t rely on just me being a smartass which I really liked.”
Of course, no real apes were harmed making the movie. Nor were they even employed. It was all Weta guys in motion capture suits. “Because I’m the primatologist of the clinic that the story is originating from, I did a lot of scenes talking with apes and carrying apes and doing surgery on apes and a couple big fight scenes with apes.”
Rise of the Apes is coming June 24.

The “Alien” prequel is off. For good. As dead as Hicks and Newt at the start of “Alien 3″.
But the movie will be made. Let me explain, Fox and Ridley Scott have decided to rewrite the script for the long-proposed prequel to the 1979 hit to be a stand-alone film – titled “Prometheus”. No Space Jockey’s. No Bishop’s. Sort of like what happened with the “Commando” sequel, which ended up being retooled as “Die Hard”, and later, the “Total Recall” sequel – yeah, so basically any Arnold Schwarzenegger sequel – which would ultimately get up under the guise of “Minority Report”. Audacious move, hey?
Fox and Ridley Scott have been working on an “Alien” prequel for two years. It had been delayed a couple of times, has gone through numerous rewrites, and struggled to nail down a lead, but for better or worse it seemed as much a sure thing as anything in la la land.
Alas, Lindelof’s rewrite of the John Spaihts script triggered an idea in Scott.
“While Alien was indeed the jumping off point for this project, out of the creative process evolved a new, grand mythology and universe in which this original story takes place,” said Scott in a statement. “The keen fan will recognize strands of Alien’s DNA, so to speak, but the ideas tackled in this film are unique, large and provocative. I couldn’t be more pleased to have found the singular tale I’d been searching for, and finally return to this genre that’s so close to my heart.”
“In a world flooded with prequels, sequels and reboots,” stated Lindelof. “I was incredibly struck by just how original Ridley’s vision was for this movie. It’s daring, visceral and hopefully, the last thing anyone expects.”
Naoomi Rapace, who had been in talks for a while, is set to star.
Sounds good ‘n all, but I’m sure I’m not alone in my enthusiasm to still see another “Alien” movie. With Scott moving on, could James Cameron be arm-twisted into possibly doing a direct sequel to his “Aliens”? Yeah, probably not, but a webmaster can dream.

GET OVER HERE!
The classic fighting game series that spawned two feature films, an animated series, comic books, action figures, and so on is going back to it's darker roots. Today, Bloody-Disgusting.com broke the news that there will be a 10 episode web series for Mortal Kombat, directed by Kevin Tancharoen. You may remember his short from last year, which touted itself as a promo for a new Mortal Kombat "reboot" movie. The movie wasn't real - it was just an attempt to get Warner Bros to buy his idea - but the critical and fan reactions were overwelmingly positive! Afterwards, Tancharoen was overloaded with pleas from fans to make this short become a reality. The owners of the Mortal Kombat game series were also pleased by what he came up with, which was a much more realistic and gritty story. It featured fan favorites such as Scorpion, Sonya Blade, and Jax.
As for the new web series, it will be penned by Tancharoen, Todd Helbing, and Aaron Helbing. Michael Jai White leads the cast as Major Jackson 'Jax' Briggs. Shooting will take place in Vancouver this coming February. No word yet if the other actors from the original short, such as Jeri Ryan as Sonya, will return. Other rumored characters are Shang Tsung, Liu Kang, Sub Zero, "Durak" (a new guy, I suppose), Kabal, Kitana, and Mileena.
Below is the original short, "Mortal Kombat Rebirth".
This is sounding like it could be a lot of fun.
To get a positive review from this fanboy though, Sonya's going to have to be in it!

Fans of the '80s movie "Heathers" were ecstatic over the 2009 announcement that a sequel to the movie about the original high school mean girls was in the works. But the flick's follow-up may have been killed, and star Shannen Doherty couldn't be happier.
"I'm weird about sequels to movies like 'Heathers,'" 39-year-old Doherty — who appeared alongside Winona Ryder and Christian Slater in the dark comedy — told CNN. "'Heathers' was a cult classic, and I think it should stay that and not be revamped or redone another way. It was amazing and amazing for that time period, and it can stay there. I'm very proud of that movie. It makes me nervous to see it messed with again.”
Ryder, however, is disappointed that the sequel talks have stalled.
"There was an idea, and I was sort of, like, on their back about like, 'We've gotta do it because, you know, Heathers exist outside of high school,'" Ryder, 39, told MTV. "There was this whole idea that [screenwriter] Dan [Waters], you know, came up with, with some little additions from me. At one point, I really wanted it to happen and was trying to get everyone riled up. But last I heard, who knows?"
According to Ryder, her co-stars seem unwilling to commit. "Everyone's doing their things right now," she said.

Don't go into Scream 4 hoping to see Sidney's oblivious, always absent father. They're baaaaaaaaack. Well, almost. Well, MAYBE...some day...
Say X-Files 3 and fans squeal. David Duchovny has brought foam to the mouths of those ravenous X-Files fanatics once again by bringing up the rumored 3rd part in the movie series. This time he's added that he'd prefer the next X-Files film to be a big blockbuster, so they can battle with their summer rivals. Should be interesting, if it ever gets off the ground!
“I’m always game. It always rides on Fox. [Chris Carter] is game. I know [Gillian Anderson] is game. We all, at this point, love the show. We all, at this point, would love to work with one another again. We’re all good friends and miss one another, and miss working together.
“We worked together so hard for so long, so closely. We had some ups and downs personally, sure. But in the end, they are really like family to me. We’re all like this little X-Files family and I, for one, would love to continue. And I think there’s a lot left in the show. You know? And I think we can continue to make good movies.
“It’s just a matter of spending enough on a movie that can compete in the summertime. We made a movie and released it in the summer, but it wasn’t really a blockbuster movie. And it got kind of overshadowed by the bigger ones. So, we’re saying, make us big. We’ll fight with the big boys.”
David also went on, oddly, to talk about who he would "go gay" for.
“If I were gay, you know. I think Woody Allen is one of a long list of men I might go gay for,” said the star, who has two children with wife Tea Leoni.
“Garry Shandling is someone I’ve publicly gone gay for, for jokes. Oh and anyone in the Twilight movies. I don’t know any of their names, but all of them. The wolves, the vampires? They’re all fantastic.”
Really David? The Twilight guys? This gay does not approve. Woody Allen and Garry Shandling I could let slide, but Robert Pattinson? Oh well. Still looking forward to this blockbuster X-Files 3 that will hopefully make up for the last dud!

The film stars Karl Urban in the title role. In this particular yarn, Dredd and his rookie sidekick (Olivia Thirlby) find themselves trapped in a high-reside apartment block, surrounded by criminals. Headey will play Madeline Madrigal, aka Ma-Ma, who controls one of the blocks of Mega-City One.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Christopher Nolan is looking at some of Hollywood's leading actresses -- as well as a few emerging talents -- for major female roles in "The Dark Knight Rises," his next Batman film.
Sources tell THR's "Heat Vision" that Keira Knightley, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Biel are due to test for roles in the Warner Bros. superhero tentpole in the next two weeks.
Also testing are relative newcomers Kate Mara and Charlotte Riley. Hot British actress Gemma Arterton was also scheduled to test but, as Heat Vision first reported last week, Arterton just landed the female lead in Paramount's "Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters" and might now have scheduling issues.
"Dark Knight Rises" needs to fill two big female roles, a villain and a love interest. Sources say one character is Talia, the daughter of villain Ra's Al Ghul, who was portrayed by Liam Neeson in Nolan's first Gotham-set crime pic "Batman Begins." In the comic books, Talia is both Batman's lover and antagonist, ultimately siring his alter ego Bruce Wayne's son.
While Knightley, Hathaway and Biel are well-known actresses, the other two are up-and-comers. Mara had brief roles in "127 Hours" and "Iron Man 2" in 2010. Her sister Rooney Mara is currently shooting David Fincher's "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" in the title role.
Riley is a British actress who has done mostly TV work. She is engaged to Tom Hardy, who co-starred in Nolan's summer smash "Inception" and has already booked an unspecified role in "Dark Knight Rises."
The film is looking at a May start, with shooting to take place in London and Los Angeles, according to insiders. Christian Bale is set to return as the Caped Crusader.
Nolan and Warner Bros. decline to comment.

Lucy Hale couldn’t say who she plays in Scream 4, but if you’ve seen any Scream movie, you can figure it out. They each open with a prologue featuring a major star getting a scary phone call (or going to the movies in Scream 2).
“It’s a small role, which I was very happy to play,” Hale said. “I’m at the beginning of the movie. They literally made me sign stuff that I couldn’t say much about it but it’s very exciting. It was very exciting for me to be a part of it and meet Wes Craven who’s an absolute sweetheart. I didn’t know what to expect but it was fun.”
Hale knows the importance of that opening scene though. The very first one was Drew Barrymore.
“I know,” Hale said. “To be a part that has a cult following, to look back at Drew Barrymore’s opening scene and be like I’m a part of this. This is unreal. It’s really cool.”
Actually, the producers wanted her for a bigger role, but her ABC Family show “Pretty Little Liars” didn’t allow her enough time. You could do worse than the opening teaser though. It’s almost like the pre-titles action sequence of a Bond movie.
“It was totally last minute. I got the call, and they were like, ‘They totally want you to be a part of this movie,’ and I was like, ‘Absolutely. I will do any part.’ I was actually originally supposed to do another part and would come back for Scream 5, but it didn’t work with the schedule. So I did a few scenes.”
Maybe Scream 5 is still on the table, or maybe Hale is just messing with us. “If they would have me I would absolutely be there because I know that they’re planning on doing a few more movies. I don’t know if I’ll be a part of them, but that would be awesome.”
For the kids who grew up on Freddy and Jason movies, Scream was the one that called out all the clichés. Now a whole new generation has grown up with self-referential horror and they’re starring in Scream 4.
“I’m a huge horror movie fan, but just like my generation Scream was a big deal. We grew up with it. I’m just a huge horror movie fan in general though.”
Scream 4 opens April 15.

“Pineapple Express” scribe Evan Goldberg says he’s warming up to the idea of doing a sequel to his 2008 stoner comedy. “I’m even hesitant to make Pineapple 2, but I’m loosening up to it as of like the last few weeks. Recently we were at Danny Mcbride’s wedding, and we were all there, well David couldn’t make it (David Gordon Green, the director of Pineapple Express); but me, (James) Franco, Seth and Danny were all there and I thought; ‘this is fun, I have fun with these guys.’ … Everyone has always wanted to do it, me and Seth were very hesitant, but frankly I was the driving force behind that hesitancy. I just kept thinking, you know not to say we’re the Coen Brothers, because we’re super not – they’re my idols in a lot of ways – but those guys never make a sequel. Like, great, great films don’t have sequels. … hopefully, there will be a sequel.” (Source : Screen Rant)

Who doesn't love horrible Engrish translations in video games? Seriously. Some of them are real comedic gems! The Resident Evil game series has had some of the most notoriously absurd lines of dialogue to ever come out of a voice actor's mouth. Personally, I've always wondered what it would be like to actually SEE someone act out those "classic" lines.
Well, if share this obsession of mine, you'll enjoy this. Stars of Resident Evil Afterlife playfully reading lines from the first Resident Evil video game. Oh Milla. You can do no wrong. *swoons*

The eight-part mini will be based on the best seller that spawned the Broadway musical but will not be a musical itself.
Salma Hayek and ABC are developing an eight-hour miniseries adaptation of Wicked.
Hayek and her partner Jose Tamez will produce via their Ventanarosa Prods. with ABC Studios. The project is in the early stages of development, so it's unclear whether Hayek will also appear in Wicked.
The miniseries genre is all but dead on broadcast television. But ABC has kept that fire burning with periodic longform projects including the Craig Zadan and Neil Meron-produced A Raisin in the Sun with Sean Combs and Phylicia Rashad.
Hayek's Wicked will be based on the Gregory Maguire best seller Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, which spawned the Broadway musical. But the miniseries will not be a musical, sources said.
Erik Jendersen, who was a producer on HBO's miniseries Band of Brothers, is writing the script.
Hayek has had a successful relationship with ABC, having produced Ugly Betty for the network. She currently has another telenovela adaptation in development at ABC Studios; Los Roldan is based on the Argentinian telenovela about a working-class man who saves a woman's life. To reward him, she gives him a job running her company, despite the disapproval of her family.

2011 is shaping up to be a big year for a galaxy far, far away. "Star Wars" will make the jump to high definition for the first time. But the Blu-ray release of the films isn't the only news on the docket. Fans of Luke, Leia, and dysfunctional dad Darth Vader will have a lot more to geek out over this year, including new games and a new exhibit at Legoland.
'Star Wars' in high definition
If you've always wanted to see the fleas on Chewbacca's fur, then we've got good news for you. All six of the "Star Wars" flicks are coming to Blu-ray in September. The recent announcement, which had been anticipated for some time, inspired massive searches on the Web. Online lookups for "star wars bluray preorders" surged into hyperspace immediately.
In case you're wondering if you really need another version of George Lucas's space epic, here's a brief rundown on some of the extras. StarWars.com explains that in addition to the movies, viewers will get "more than 30 hours of extensive special features including never-before-seen deleted and alternate scenes." For hardcore fans, that's better than a shopping spree for power converters at Tosche Station.

'Star Wars' in brick form
Legoland in San Diego is opening a new exhibit dedicated to the "Star Wars" films and "Clone Wars" TV show. Over the past several years, "Star Wars"-branded LEGO toys have exploded in popularity among kids and adults, making this new area an all-but-certain success.
The exhibit, which opens at the end of March, will "recreate six famous scenes from the movies and one from the Cartoon Network television program," according to KUSI. Visitors will also come face to face with life-size replicas of Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and R2D2 (what, no Jar-Jar?).
Expect the exhibit to further boost Web searches for LEGO Star Wars toys, despite the fact that some models aren't for the faint of heart or light of wallet. For example, the Death Star sells for $400 and contains nearly 4,000 pieces.
'Star Wars' online
Not satisfied to watch the movies and look at brickified models of X-Wings and Tie Fighters? For gamers who enjoy blasting Stormtroopers (and, perhaps, the occasional Ewok), there will be several high profile videogames in 2011.

Perhaps the biggest is "Star Wars: The Old Republic," a massive multiplayer online game that will (hopefully) hit shelves sometime in 2011. Think of it as like World of Warcraft, but with Jedis. The hugely anticipated game doesn't have a release date yet, but that hasn't stopped the searches. Web lookups for "star wars: the old republic MMORPG" are already beginning to climb. May the Force (and a speedy Web connection) be with you.
